November 3, 2025Goldston Fields Groundbreaking for New Single Family Homes in Goldston, NC
It was an exciting day for the Raleigh Division of Smith Douglas Homes on Monday, October 6th, as we joined the Town of Goldston to break ground on our newest community, officially, Goldston Fields. This milestone project marks our debut in Chatham County and expands our footprint as a trusted home builder across the Triangle region of North Carolina.
We were honored to celebrate along with Major Jonathan Hensley, City Commissioner Lisa Burke, and leadership from the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties, including President Holly Fraccaro and CEO Rebecca Dickensen. The ceremony featured inspired remarks from Mayor Hensley and Joel Geniesse, Raleigh Division President for Smith Douglas Homes, followed by a groundbreaking explosion to kick off the start of this exciting new chapter for Goldston.
About Goldston Fields:
Nestled in the heart of Goldston, NC, Goldston Fields marks a historic milestone for the community as the first new-home neighborhood within town limits. Conveniently located equidistant between Siler City and Sanford, residents will enjoy easy access to US-421 and US-1, making commutes to the Research Triangle Park and Raleigh simple and efficient.
With Chatham County emerging as one of North Carolina’s fastest-growing regions, where the average home price has climbed to $663,000 as of September 2025 (Redfin), the need for affordable new homes continues to grow. Chatham County continues to thrive with new job opportunities and a strong school system. Goldston Fields will stand out as the first new home community within Goldston’s town limits, featuring approximately 95 thoughtfully designed, single-family homes.
Goldston Fields is expected to more than double the town’s population, growing carefully and with respect for the area’s small-town charm. Guided by our belief that homeownership should be within reach, Smith Douglas Homes takes pride in delivering high-quality, affordable homes through efficient construction and the support of trusted local trade partners.
Sales are expected to begin in 2027, with pricing anticipated from the high $200s. Goldston Fields will bring fresh energy and opportunity to Chatham County, while preserving the welcoming character that makes Goldston a special place to call home.
